Job summary

Black Stone Minerals in Houston seeks a Senior Land Technician to support land operations and lead the Land Tech team. You will research acreage status, prepare lease agreements, and set up various agreement types in Quorum Land System.

You will calculate royalty and working interest, route documents for execution, and monitor calendars. The role requires collaboration with the Landman, Land Administration, and upper management to drive efficiency.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years land tech experience.
• Experience with TX & LA assets preferred.
• Quorum Land System experience preferred.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Precise computation of royalty and working interest.
• Proficient in Excel with advanced formulas and analysis.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
• Solid understanding of oil, gas and mineral leasing.

Responsibilities

• Partner with area Landman to manage land functions in the region.
• Collaborate with Land Administration and other depts for communication.
• Prepare leases and agreements including property exhibits.
• Calculate and validate Royalty and Working Interest percentages.
• Organize and set up lease and contract files and routing.
• Review monthly calendars and generate reports and maps.
• Set up and analyze agreements in Quorum Land System.
• Identify process improvements to increase efficiency.
• Coach and develop Land Techs and resolve issues within the team.
• Ensure policies are understood and followed; pursue continuous improvement.
