Job summary

Kitsap Public Utility District is seeking a GIS Analyst I to assist in mapping water, telecom, and sewer utilities in a fast-paced GIS/Engineering environment in Poulsbo, WA. You will support design processes and final construction records, with emphasis on accuracy and collaboration.

The role requires GIS certification or enrollment (or two years GIS experience), strong communication, and solid MS Office skills. Occasional lifting and office work are expected.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid Washington State driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
• GIS certification, or enrollment in GIS certification program, or two years of applied experience in the application and use of GIS technology.
• Ability to adhere to local, federal regulations and company policies.
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
• Must have solid working knowledge of Outlook, Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Entering Construction Record Drawings into ArcMap utilizing ArcPro.
• Audit water, telecom and sewer infrastructure.
• Create project boundaries with parcel data and LUD boundaries in ArcMap and ArcPro.
• Supports Engineering in the design process.
• Works with senior staff to develop an understanding of how web apps, web maps, Survey123 and GPS function.
• Coordinate with staff to enhance the operational processes within KPUD.
• Applies strong communication skills and a team player attitude.
• Maintain a strong work ethic that can provide high productivity with minimal supervision.
• Work effectively under pressure and frequent interruptions.
