Job summary

PUD #1 of Clallam County is seeking an Engineering Tech II-level professional to design distribution projects and support GIS, drafting, and permit processes. This role involves producing staking sheets, cost estimates, and outage-ready drawings, with guidance from senior staff.

The ideal candidate will have an engineering or related associates degree and at least 3 years of experience, with AutoCAD and ESRI GIS proficiency.

Qualifications

• Requires 3 years of experience as an Engineering Tech I or equivalent.
• Associate degree in Engineering or equivalent training/experience.
• Experience in surveying and mapping of utility systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design Primary/Secondary Distribution power systems (1-Phase and 3-Phase) for overhead/underground projects.
• Provide guidance to line crews and customer service on engineering matters.
• Input data for staking sheets, material summaries and cost estimates.
• Prepare permits (WSDOT, BPA, SEPA, DNR, NPS, HPA) as needed.
• Maintain key engineering data and prepare drawings and staking sheets per standards.
• Perform GIS duties and OMS connectivity; conduct transformer loading calculations.
