Job summary

The Resource Management Agency of Tulare County is seeking an entry level Extra Help GIS Analyst I to support GIS activities for Public Works and Planning. The incumbent will establish standards and procedures for creating and maintaining map data and integrate graphical data from various sources into the Tulare County GIS project.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent.
One year of responsible experience in surveying, drafting, computer systems support, programming, systems analysis or data management.
Knowledge of GIS concepts, mapping, CAD and database systems.
Ability to read maps, interpret aerial photos and develop GIS data.

Responsibilities

Maintain spatial databases.
Develop digital maps using records of survey, Assessor's parcel maps, deeds and other data sources.
Integrate electronic map data from outside sources with in-house data.
Identify and tag graphic components of GIS with attributes.
Maintain metadata and genealogy on graphic data used in GIS.
