Job summary

Mt. Blue Middle School is seeking a Girls Lacrosse Coach to instruct athletes in skills, strategy, and conditioning while promoting character, discipline, and pride. You will further your knowledge through clinics and observations and serve as a positive role model for student athletes.

Flexible after-school schedule with travel to matches; reports to the Director of Athletics/Building Administration. Must meet minimum age or education requirement (20+ or high school graduate) and hold CHRC

Qualifications

• Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Substantial knowledge of lacrosse technical aspects and ongoing study of new theories and procedures.
• Must be a positive role model for student athletes through instruction and actions.

Responsibilities

• Instruct athletes in fundamental lacrosse skills, strategy and conditioning for team success.
• Ensure adherence to Mt. Blue Regional School District athletic policies and regulations.
• Travel to home and away games; oversee after‑school scheduling and activities.

Job

Goal(s): To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, the coach must instruct and demonstrate behaviors that lead to socially acceptable character development, self discipline, self confidence, and pride of accomplishment in the student athletes. To upgrade his/her knowledge and skills through coaching clinics, observations, consultation, etc.

Qualifications

• Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• The coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and, at the same time, must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field.
• The coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through his/her instructions and actions.

Certifications

• Valid CHRC

Performance Responsibilities

• Has a thorough knowledge of all the athletic policies approved by the Mt. Blue District Schools' Board of Education and is responsible for their implementation.
• Has knowledge of existing system, state and league regulations.

Education

• The coach must be at least 20 years of age, or a high school graduate.

Experience

• Comprehensive knowledge of the game is preferred as well as knowledge of current coaching techniques and procedures. Knowledge of NFHS and MPA Rules. Demonstrate ability to instruct and supervise student athletes.

Working Schedule

• Flexible after school hours required for scheduled matches both home and away.

Travel Requirements

• Travel to home and away matches. Travel to state team and individual competitions when players qualify.
