JV Baseball Coach

Job Goal(s):

• Skill Development: Teach and reinforce core baseball techniques, including hitting, pitching, fielding, and base running.
• Program Alignment: Work with the varsity head coach to use matching terminology, schemes, and overall program goals.
• Player Preparation: Ready players mentally and physically for advancement to varsity.
• Character and Sportsmanship: Foster a positive, respectful, and safe environment that builds teamwork and good morale.
• Academic Support: Monitor and support the academic success and eligibility of student-athletes

Qualifications

• Experience: Prior competitive playing experience (high school, college) or 1–2 years of coaching experience.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of baseball fundamentals, rules, strategies, and practice planning.
• Safety Certifications: Current CPR and First Aid certification, plus state-mandated concussion training (such as NFHS courses).
• Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and leadership abilities to mentor and develop teenage athletes.

Certifications

• Valid CHRC - required prior to the start of the season

Performance Responsibilities

• Has a thorough knowledge of all the athletic policies approved by the Mount Blue District Schools' Board of Education and is responsible for their implementation.

Education

• The coach must be at least 20 years of age, or a high school graduate.

Experience

• Comprehensive knowledge of the game is preferred as well asknowledge of current coaching techniques and procedures. Knowledge of NFHS and MPA Rules.
• Demonstrate ability to instruct and supervise student athletes.

Working Schedule Flexible after school hours required for scheduledgames both home and away.

Travel Requirements Travelto home and away games.

Reports To: Director of Athletics /Head Coach

Terms of Employment: As determined annually by the District.

Stipend Position: $3,254 per season

Evaluation: Completed annually byDirector of Athleticsor their designee

FLSA Status: Exempt
