Job summary

Oldham County Schools is seeking an Assistant Coach to support middle and high school athletic programs. Reports to Head Coach/Principal/Athletic Director; term is on an as-needed basis with stipend per the district schedule.

Responsibilities include assisting in planning practices, teaching fundamental skills, promoting sports in school and community, and modeling good sportsmanship. Candidates should meet the listed qualifications and readiness for a one-year stipend role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• 64 semester hours of college credit, or KHSAA approved professional development training.
• 21 years of age or older.
• Criminal records check as required by Kentucky law.
• First aid and CPR certification, plus any required training per KHSAA Bylaw 27.
• Knowledge of sporting rules, regulations and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach and other coaches in one or more sports.
• Read and follow oral and written directions.
• Explain and apply game rules, policies and procedures.
• Lift heavy objects.
