Job summary

Davenport Community Schools in Central High School is seeking a Golf Girls Assistant Coach to teach fundamentals, develop a competitive golf program, and mentor student-athletes to excel on the course and in the classroom.

Must hold a valid Iowa Coaching Authorization or Iowa Teaching License with Coaching Endorsement; state-level experience is desired. Complete online application with a resume and three letters of reference; strong interpersonal skills with diverse students are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Iowa Coaching Authorization or Iowa Teaching License with Coaching Endorsement.
• Experience with competition/success at the state level is desired.
• Complete online application including a resume and 3 letters of reference.
• Successful Candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches his/her full potential.

Responsibilities

• Golf duties: teach and coach fundamentals and techniques of golf.
• Develop and maintain a strong golf program.
• Motivate student-athletes to excel on the court and in the classroom.
• Communicate with administration, staff, students, and booster club.
• Support the strength and conditioning coordinator to ensure proper conditioning and weight training for our student athletes.
• Provide adequate supervision before, during and after practices/matches.
• Lead by example with high character and solid morals.
• Promote other programs at Central High School and encourage participation in other activities.
• Work with Athletic Boosters and attend one meeting per academic year.
