Job summary

Davenport North High School, part of Davenport Community Schools, is seeking a Girls Basketball Assistant Coach for multiple positions. The District reserves the right to split the position between two qualified candidates.

Candidates should demonstrate the ability to teach and coach fundamentals, develop a competitive program, and motivate student-athletes in academics and sport. Valid Iowa Coaching Authorization or Iowa Teaching License with Coaching Endorsement is required.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate ability to teach and coach fundamentals of basketball.
• Must demonstrate desire to improve the program and sports overall.
• Must communicate effectively with administration, staff, students and booster club.

Responsibilities

• Teach and coach basketball fundamentals and techniques.
• Develop and maintain a strong basketball program.
• Motivate student-athletes to excel on the court and in the classroom.
• Supervise before, during and after practices/matches.
• Promote participation in other North High School programs.
• Assist with booster club activities and youth camps.

Education
