Job summary

Portland Public Schools in Portland, MI, seeks a Varsity Girls Bowling Coach at Portland High School to lead, supervise, and develop the girls bowling program and contribute to district bowling initiatives. The coach will plan practices, teach fundamentals and strategies, develop student-athletes, promote sportsmanship and academics, and maintain communication with families and the athletics coordinator.

Previous high school coaching experience and fingerprint clearance are preferred;

• Previous bowling coaching experience preferred.

Additional Consideration

• Previous bowling experience at the high school, college, or competitive level.
• Participation in bowling camps, clinics, leagues, or coaching development opportunities.
• Previous experience working with high school student-athletes.
• First Aid certification.
• CPR/AED certification.

Responsibilities

The Varsity Girls Bowling Coach will be responsible for the leadership, supervision, and development of the Varsity Girls Bowling team and will be actively involved in the overall Portland Public Schools bowling program.

The selected candidate will work collaboratively with the Extra-Curricular & Athletic Coordinator and other coaches within the program to support the continued development and success of Portland Bowling.

Responsibilities include planning and conducting practices, teaching bowling fundamentals and strategies, developing student-athletes' skills, supervising athletes during practices and competitions, promoting sportsmanship and academic success, maintaining appropriate communication with athletes and families, and assisting with other aspects of the bowling program as needed.
