Job summary

Fort Wayne Community Schools is seeking a qualified coach for the 2026-2027 school year to lead athletic practices and games at Blackhawk Middle School. The role demands high standards academically and athletically, teamwork with head coaches and assistants, and the ability to engage students, families and the school community.

A valid driver’s license is required and SPB/Minibus certification must be obtained before the season.

Qualifications

• Prefer candidate who will be teaching at Blackhawk Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year.
• If applicant is a current FWCS teacher the teacher must fulfill their daily contracted hours before coaching.
• If not an FWCS teacher candidate must be available at 3:30 Monday through Friday afternoons.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and supervise all athletic practices and games.
• Maintain high expectations academically and athletically for students.
• Develop positive working relations with students, parents, teachers and administrators.
• Organize and collaborate with head coaches and assistants.
