Job summary

Fort Wayne Community Schools is seeking a school-year athletic coach for the 2026-2027 period. The role involves directing practices and games, and fostering strong student, parent, and staff relationships.

Candidates must manage coaching duties within the school’s schedule, be prepared to work with diverse student groups, and hold a valid driver’s license. SPB/Minibus certification prior to season is required, with pay prorated per start date.

Qualifications

• Prefer candidate who will be teaching at Northrop High School for the 2026-2027 school year.
• If applicant is a current FWCS teacher the teacher must fulfill their daily contracted hours before coaching.
• If not an FWCS teacher candidate must be available at 3:30 Monday through Friday afternoons.
• Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and supervise all athletic practices and games.
• Develop positive working relations with students, parents, teachers and administrators.
• Collaborate with head coaches and assistants to organize workouts and schedules.
• Pursue SPB/Minibus certification before season.
