Job summary

Fort Wayne Community Schools seeks a qualified coach for the 2026-2027 school year at Wayne High School to lead athletic practices and games. The role requires collaboration with staff, adherence to school and league policies, and a commitment to student success both academically and athletically.

Preference given to candidates with coaching experience and the ability to work with students from multicultural backgrounds; SPB/Minibus certification is required before the season starts.

Qualifications

• Prefer candidate with high school coaching experience.
• Must be willing to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Commitment to building positive relations with students, parents, teachers and administrators.
• Must have or be willing to obtain SPB/Minibus certification before season.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and supervise all athletic practices and games.
• Maintain high academic and athletic expectations for students.
• Coordinate with head coaches and assistants.
• Comply with IHSAA MSAC rules and FWCS policies.
