Job summary

Salamander Collection is seeking seasonal staff to ensure a positive guest experience at La Patisserie and the life-size gingerbread house inside Hotel Bennett.

Role requires strong communication, ability to read and write, and knowledge of menu items. Completion of ServSafe Alcohol course and ABL Server License within 30 days is required; positions involve front-of-house duties and holiday-themed service in a high-traffic hotel setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must be able to read and write to facilitate communication.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of all menu items, prices and general service procedures.
• Must possess basic computational ability.
• Complete the South Carolina ServSafe Alcohol Online Course & Exam within 30 days of hire; and possess a valid ABL Server License within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Be the initial contact for guests at La Patisserie and the life-size gingerbread house.
• Relay order information to the appropriate barista team member.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of front and back of house areas.
• Provide direct service to guests, including serving and bussing tables as needed.
• Perform general cleaning tasks and adhere to health standards.
• Assist guests with inquiries in a pleasant, helpful manner.
• Follow all health and safety policies and procedures.
• Service the life-size gingerbread house installation, including hot chocolate and cookies.

Job description

Responsible for the positive experience of guests through effective communication with all guests that enter La Patisserie and visit the life-size gingerbread house. Adhere and follow Food and Beverage culture and vision in accordance to F&B core. To support service by preparing various items and maintaining the cleanliness of our work environment.

Seasonal positions available, Gingerbread house shifts: 11 am- 8pm.

Essential Job Functions

• Be the initial contact for all guests looking to enjoy La Patisserie and the life-size gingerbread house.
• Relays order information to the appropriate barista team member.
• Maintain the organization and cleanliness of both front of house and back of house areas.
• In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position maybe required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manger based upon the requirements of the hotel.
• Provide direct service to guests as needed, including, but not limited to, serving tables, bussing tables.
• Perform any general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products to adhere to health standards.
• Additional duties as necessary and assigned.
• Assist all guests (internal and external) with any inquiries or requests in a pleasant, helpful manner.
• Actively participate in and follow all health and safety policies and procedures set out for Hotel Bennett.
• Service the life-size gingerbread house installation in the lobby of Hotel Bennett; serving hot chocolate and cookies to guests.

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree.
