Job summary

Hotel Bennett is seeking a Server Assistant to provide exceptional guest service and support the service team in a fine-dining environment.

You will deliver dishes, relay orders, garnish plates, and assist with opening/closing duties while keeping all areas clean and safe. Must be 18+, with SC ServSafe Alcohol and ABL Server License within 30 days, and preferred 6 months of related experience.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent or higher.
• Preferred 6 months related experience in food and beverage.
• Knowledge of food service and health standard requirements.
• Complete the SC ServSafe Alcohol Online Course & Exam within 30 days.
• Possess a valid SC ABL Server License within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Deliver prepared dishes to guests promptly.
• Relay order information to service team.
• Garnish and decorate dishes prior to serving.
• Prepare items assigned by supervisor.
• Maintain clean and tidy work areas and stations at all times.
• Complete opening/closing tasks and daily/weekly duties per manual.
• Attend pre-shift lineups and meetings to stay informed on events.
• Operate outlet equipment and protect assets.
• Assist guests with inquiries in a pleasant manner.
• Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures.

POSITION OBJECTIVE

As a Server Assistant, you will provide extraordinary customer service while graciously assisting the service team. You will lend your support by ensuring that the dining room is prepared with various items and maintaining the cleanliness of our work environment. You will assist with the general timeliness of service with enthusiasm and a stern sense of urgency.

Essential Job Functions

• Deliver prepared dishes that has been ordered by our guest to designated destination promptly.
• Relays order information to the appropriate service team member.
• Garnishes and decorates dishes prior to serving.
• Prep any items assigned by a direct supervisor.
• Other duties may be assigned as business demands.
• Ensure that all work areas and stations are kept clean and tidy at all times
• Perform all opening tasks, side and closing duties as well as all daily and weekly duties to the set standards as outlined in the Departmental Training Manual.
• Attend pre-shift lineups, weekly and monthly meetings to be well informed about events, promotions and other news concerning Hotel Bennett.
• Understand how to operate the equipment used in the outlet and to protect all assets in the outlet and in the hotel.
• Assist all guests (internal and external) with any inquiries or requests in a pleasant, helpful manner.
• Actively participate in and follow all health and safety policies and procedures set out for Hotel Bennett.

Education/Experience

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred 6 months of related experience in food and beverage
• Must have a knowledge of food service and applicable health standard requirements as designated by local, state and federal mandate(s).
• Complete the South Carolina state-approved ServSafe Alcohol Online Course & Exam within 30 days of hire
• Possess a valid ABL Server License issued by the state of South Carolina within 30 days of hire

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk' use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch; talk and hear.
