Job summary

Stellar Virtual is seeking a Gifted & Talented Teacher to deliver specialized, differentiated instruction remotely to students across multiple state programs including Oregon, Washington, Iowa, Indiana, Missouri, and Tennessee. The role requires virtual/hybrid instruction experience, strong knowledge of gifted education, and collaboration with program staff and families.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years teaching experience, with gifted students preferred.

Overview

The Gifted & Talented Teacher will provide specialized instruction and services to students identified as gifted and talented based on established district and state criteria. This remote position will support gifted students across multiple state programs, including Oregon, Washington, Iowa, Indiana, Missouri, and Tennessee. The teacher will design and facilitate engaging, challenging, and differentiated learning experiences that foster students’ intellectual, emotional, and social growth.

Essential Duties

• Provide specialized and differentiated instruction and services to students identified as gifted and talented through innovative virtual teaching practices.
• Plan and facilitate rigorous, engaging learning experiences that promote critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, and advanced academic development.
• Assess and monitor student progress using multiple data sources and adjust instructional strategies to meet individual learning needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, program staff, and other stakeholders to support the identification, placement, and continued development of gifted students.
• Participate in gifted and talented screening, identification, and selection processes in accordance with applicable state and program requirements.
• Collaborate with instructional staff to develop and refine curriculum and enrichment opportunities aligned with gifted education best practices.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians and school staff regarding student progress, program participation, and individual learning needs.
• Support and facilitate enrichment activities, student showcases, and other opportunities that allow gifted students to demonstrate and celebrate their learning.
• Provide professional development, resources, and guidance to teachers on strategies for identifying and supporting gifted and talented learners.
• Assist with the planning, coordination, and administration of gifted program assessments and testing as needed.
• Maintain accurate student records and documentation in accordance with school, district, and state requirements.
• Participate in ongoing professional development related to gifted education, virtual instruction, and applicable state requirements.
• Collaborate with the Gifted & Talented Program Supervisor and school leadership to support consistent and effective implementation of gifted services across programs.
• You will play a key role in our collective success by proactively pivoting to support emerging business needs and strategic priorities directed by your manager.

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

• A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, with at least 2 years of experience working with gifted and talented students preferred.
• Minimum of 30 hours of professional development in gifted/talented education preferred.
• Experience teaching in a virtual or hybrid learning environment strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of gifted education principles, identification practices, and instructional strategies.
• Ability to differentiate instruction and develop appropriately challenging learning experiences for gifted learners.
• Proven experience working independently with minimal supervision, including the ability to manage a digital task list and maintain a stable remote (home-office) infrastructure.
• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience using the Google Workspace suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) in a professional or academic setting.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas via written channels (Email, Google Chat, and Document Comments) with high clarity and low ambiguity.
• Access to a private, secure, high-speed internet connection with a minimum of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds.

Education & Certification Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required for all positions. Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field from an accredited institution; Master’s degree preferred.
• Valid Oregon teaching license/certification appropriate for the assignment, with gifted education endorsement or authorization as required by Oregon.
• Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain additional state certification/authorization in Washington, Iowa, Indiana, Missouri, and Tennessee as required for assigned students and programs. Meet all applicable state-specific certification, endorsement, and gifted education requirements for assigned students.
