Job summary

Oklahoma City Public Schools seeks an Elementary Advanced Academics Specialist to support gifted and talented programming and enrich all students through STEAM experiences. You will coordinate Botball activities, develop GT lesson plans, identify students, and guide teachers with district and school staff to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.

This 1.00 FTE, 181 workdays position reports to the Principal and emphasizes collaboration, data documentation, and ongoing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in education or a related field.
• Oklahoma Teaching Certification in Elementary Education or approved alt certification by the state Department of Education.
• Oklahoma Teaching Certification in Gifted and Talented (or ability to obtain certification by start date).
• Highly effective communication, listening, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents/guardians, and the community.
• Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement GT lesson plans to meet district goals and support gifted students.
• Coordinate ongoing identification of GT students and communicate options to families.
• Organize and facilitate GT site committee activities and data management.
• Advance STEAM programming and Botball activities for all students in enrichment.
• Provide PD and support to instructional staff for GT and STEAM integration.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
