Summary of Position
Our Clerks serve two main functions: ensure the safety of passengers, volunteers, and employees, and provide excellent customer service to our passengers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide superior customer service at all times.
- Update gift shop inventory, including stocking shelves and pricing items.
- Effectively operate a Point of Sale system, including handling cash, processing credit card payments/batches, making deposits, and reconciling cash drawer balances at the end of shift.
- Work in the gift shop and concession train car environment.
- Prepare concession items as needed based on expected daily passenger count.
- Maintain cleanliness of the overall gift shop and concession area.
- Close and secure the gift shop at the end of business.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff and volunteers.
- Assist in other areas as needed or directed by the gift shop manager.
- Provide First Aid/CPR/AED in the event of emergencies.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills.

- Self‑motivation and ability to work with minimal interference.
- Certified or willing to obtain certification in First Aid/CPR/AED.
- Must pass a background screen, including criminal and financial checks.
- Must pass pre‑employment physical and drug screen.

Physical Demands / Work Environment
Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, handle objects, reach with hands and arms, write, talk, type and hear. Occasionally required to sit, stoop, bend and/or kneel and lift or move up to 35 lbs.
Work is conducted in a retail and concession train car setting with exposure to passengers and the general public.
