Job summary

The Aspen Institute is seeking a Staff Accountant, Gifts Processing, in Washington, DC. The role focuses on accurate donor contributions, tax receipts, and maintaining donor records, reporting to the General Ledger Manager.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in nonprofit gift processing, strong Excel skills, and experience with NetSuite and Salesforce, enabling precise data entry and timely processing of high-volume transactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration or equivalent
• 3–5 years of nonprofit gift processing or donor operations experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data reconciliation

Responsibilities

• Process daily gift batches in CRM and ensure completeness and accuracy
• Generate charitable tax acknowledgment receipts using templates
• Maintain donor records and gift designations in CRM and NetSuite
• Assist month-end gift processing and reconciliations
• Support remote check deposit processing as primary contact
• Perform other duties as assigned
