Job summary

University of Hawaii Foundation in Honolulu, HI seeks a Gift Planning Specialist to ensure smooth operations of the Office of Estate and Gift Planning and to support the full lifecycle of planned gift commitments.

The role reports to the AVP of Gift Planning and Donor Development and involves managing gifts, donor communications, and prospect research. The position may require some weekend and evening work within a dynamic, non-profit setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of progressively responsible experience in corporate, higher education, or non-profit
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, mail merge functions, and database and records management
  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Must be multi-task oriented and able to work under deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively in a large, complex organization balancing priorities
  • Professional, self-starter, reliable and team oriented
  • Sensitivity to confidential information
  • Clear written and spoken communication

Responsibilities

  • Manage gift lifecycle from proposal creation to closure and stewardship.
  • Assist the AVP in managing real property gifts with due diligence and legal compliance.
  • Maintain up-to-date OEGP files and donor database entries.
  • Serve as first point of contact for donors, UH constituents, and colleagues.
  • Maintain prospect management system with updates, proposals, and reporting.
  • Coordinate meetings, travel, agendas, and follow-up.
  • Provide budget support, forms preparation, and expense processing.
