The Leadership Giving Officer (LGO) manages a pool of 200-225 majorand leadership gift prospects rated $50K - $250K+, and thequalification of prospects at the $100K+ level. The position isresponsible for making 130+ visits annually with these prospects toqualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospects/donors; executea minimum of 10 - 20 comprehensive proposals of $50K+; qualifynewly identified prospects as future potential major donors; andsecure unrestricted annual gifts as prospects are cultivatedtowards leadership-level gifts.
As part of their annual visits, the LGO will also solicit theirprospect pool for annual gifts and strive to close at least twoplanned gifts.
Other responsibilities include effective collaboration andpartnership with colleagues, peers, and fundraising unit managersacross a diverse range of fundraising programs; staffing Universityadministrators and faculty on development visits with prospects anddonors; and recording activities, contacts, proposals, andstrategic plans in the donor database.
This position requires in-depth knowledge of the University, itsinitiatives, and its internal and external constituents to serve asa University representative and a liaison between the Division ofAdvancement and Brown's alumni, parents, and friends. TheLeadership Giving Officer routinely interacts with a variety ofUniversity colleagues, including those in Advancement leadership,Alumni Relations, Development, various academic departments, andfaculty members, among others.
This position currently manages a portfolio of prospects based in the Boston, New England region; the considering officer must be located in the Providence, RI area.
