Job summary
Buffalo Surgery Center seeks a dedicated registered nurse to provide compassionate care in the pre- and post-operative GI care pathway. You will assess patients, plan individualized care, and collaborate with gastroenterologists and the procedural team to ensure optimal outcomes.
Responsibilities include educating patients, assisting during endoscopic procedures, and maintaining accurate records. Applicants must hold NYS RN license, BLS/ACLS, and have perioperative experience or strong GI
Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing; NYS license required.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Perioperative nursing experience required; GI nursing interest encouraged.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care in pre- and post-operative GI procedures.
- Assess patient health status, develop individualized care plans and document progress.
- Educate patients and families about GI conditions and post-operative care.
- Assist during endoscopies/colonoscopies and procedural setup.
- Maintain records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team to ensure safe care.
- Contribute to quality improvement and best practices.
