Job summary

The Clinical Staff Nurse at MLK Community Healthcare in Los Angeles, CA, is an experienced RN responsible for organizing, planning, directing, and providing high quality patient/family-centered care in the perioperative setting.

Under the supervision of the Director of Perioperative Services, this role emphasizes evidence-based practice, SBAR communication, and collaboration with care managers to ensure smooth discharge planning.

Qualifications

• BSN required or must complete a BSN within 5 years of hire.
• Minimum 2 years medical-surgical experience; GI Lab experience preferred.
• CGRN or related certification preferred.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Electronic Medical Records experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient/family-centered care based on the Watson Model of Care.
• Assess patients and coordinate ongoing plans with the care team.
• Communicate changes using SBAR and document in IPOC.
• Support discharge planning and care transitions with care managers.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and adhere to regulatory standards.
