Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensed in the state where the team member practices.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification within 45 days, unless waived by leadership.
• Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and documenting/updating pertinent health information.
• Performs laboratory procedures using aseptic technique and standard precautions.
• Assists physician/provider with procedures and surgeries under supervision.
• Administers medications and vaccines under orders; initiates IV therapy within limits; manages IV fluids.
• Educates patients on tasks, treatment and self-care; coordinates follow‑ups and referrals.
• Documents patient status and communicates with health care team; maintains chart accuracy.
• Performs advanced clinical tasks under supervision (suturing, catheterization, EKG, etc.).
• Organizes exam rooms and supplies; maintains equipment and safety.
• Participates in quality improvement and patient-centered initiatives.
