Froedtert South, Inc. Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin invites applications for an Endoscopy Technician Specialist L. Under the GI RN supervision, the tech assists physicians with endoscopy, supports data and specimen collection, and aids pre/post-procedure care.

Requirements: High School diploma or GED; CNA/LPN/Surgical Tech/Medical Assistant certs or SGNA training; current BLS/CPR; ability to read, write and communicate in English; physical dexterity to position patients and handle equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CNA/LPN/Surgical Tech/Medical Assistant certification or SGNA training preferred.
• English literacy and documentation skills required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares room with proper equipment for scheduled procedure prior to patient entering suite.
• Adheres to universal protocols for patient safety and right patient identification.
• Provides pre-, intra- and post-procedure care.
• Assists physician and RN with endoscopic procedures and handling of specimens.
• Assists with patient positioning.
• Documents basic elements of the procedure.
• Communicates observations to RN and team as appropriate.
• Follows infection control practices.
• Adheres to hospital/department policies and procedures.
