Job summary

University of California, Irvine Health is seeking a GI Endoscopy Tech II to join our clinical team in California. The role supports endoscopy procedures, patient preparation, and post-procedure care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The successful candidate will hold a Medical Assistant Diploma or equivalent certification, have at least 3 years of GI/Endoscopy experience in a hospital, and demonstrate strong communication skills with diverse patient populations. BLS certification is required.

What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications

• Understanding of medical terminology
• Medical Assistant Diploma or Certificate of Competency / Recognition in Medical Assisting Clinical / Back Office or minimum 3 years experience working as a GI/Endoscopy Technician in a hospital setting
• Excellent customer service skills
• Current BLS certification
• Ability to work well in a constantly changing environment
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification
• Flexibility to work variable shifts, including occasional weekends or holidays
• Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese
