Job summary

Advocate Health in Sheboygan, WI is seeking a GI Lab Assistant to support the Gastrointestinal Services team. The position is full-time (36 hours per week) with a Monday through Friday schedule and an on-call requirement. The GI lab operates 24/7, and on-call duties occur 3 to 4 nights per month and every 9th weekend.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate required.
• Typically 1 year of experience in a nursing assistant or related patient-care role.
• GI lab environment experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care activities under RN/physician supervision, including intraprocedural support.
• Prepare rooms and equipment per physician specifications and ensure proper instruments.
• Perform high-level disinfection and reprocessing of scope/equipment.
• Calibrate and maintain equipment; document repairs.
• Document procedures/images/patient charges in endoscope/ultrasound systems.
• Manage inventory, perform clerical duties, and handle patient records.
• Assist with patient positioning and safe transfer, ensuring age-appropriate care.
