Job summary

GI Specialists of Georgia invites applications for an Endoscopy Tech with strong infection control knowledge and experience in sterile processing. You will support physicians during GI procedures, prepare specimens, and maintain equipment per guidelines.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma and preferably a BLS certification, with ability to lift up to 50 pounds. The role emphasizes patient safety, teamwork, and adherence to regulatory standards in a supportive center environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; BLS certification or willingness to obtain within 3 months.
• Knowledge of infection control procedures and medical instrumentation; prior GI tech or sterile processing experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist in moving patients; strong safety awareness and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with procedures such as EGDs, colonoscopies, sigmoidoscopies, and more.
• Collect and prepare specimens for pathology, microbiology, and cytology.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain scopes and instruments per manufacturer guidelines.
• Document procedures in the electronic system accurately.
• Maintain well-stocked procedure rooms and anticipate equipment needs.
• Provide compassionate support to patients and families before, during, and after procedures.
• Assist RNs/LPNs with patient care and recovery under supervision.
• Adhere to AAAHC, OSHA, and infection control standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:

• High School Diploma
• Current BLS certification (or willingness to obtain within 3 months).
• Knowledge of medical instrumentation, disinfection processes, and infection control.
• Prior experience as a GI Tech, Endoscopy Tech, Surgical Tech, or Sterile Processing Tech preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist in moving patients up to 350 pounds.
• Strong critical thinking, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and professionalism.
