Job summary

Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to support GI procedures, prepare equipment, and ensure patient safety. The role requires collaboration with surgeons, gastroenterologists, and nursing staff, plus documentation and compliance duties.

Minimum training includes a high school diploma with healthcare experience, BLS certification, and GI tech modules; training of new staff will be part of the duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with patient-care experience or related certification.
• Certification in BLS with re-certification as required.
• Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions for GI procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide procedural assistance during GI procedures and assist in patient positioning and equipment prep.
• Manage GI equipment availability, maintenance, cleaning, and repairs as needed.
• Coordinate patient care before, during, and after GI procedures with the care team.
• Accurately document procedures, patient data, and equipment usage in EMR systems.
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards; participate in quality initiatives.
• Provide training and mentorship on GI procedures and equipment to new staff.
