Job summary

MUHA's Endoscopy Unit is seeking a GI Technical Specialist who supports endoscopic procedures and provides direct patient care before, during, and after GI events. Under RN supervision, you will help prepare patients, assist with instruments, and maintain a clean, safe work area.

Position requires high school diploma (or equivalent) and BLS certification with ongoing CPR. 40 scheduled hours per week; hourly pay; West Campus CHS facility; on-site work in Charleston, SC.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required for GI Technical Specialist I.
• GI Technical Specialist II requires either 1 year of GI Tech I experience at MUSC CHS or 1 year of patient care experience in a health care facility; or a college degree, or nursing school enrollment with Nursing Fundamentals completion; or enrollment in healthcare field; or Nursing/Medical Assistant training.

Responsibilities

• Assist with endoscopic procedures and provide direct patient care before, during and after GI procedures.
• Clean and maintain all endoscopic instruments and equipment.
• Maintain a clean work area and assist with patient transportation.
