Qualifications

  • BLS certification required within 2 weeks of hire; maintain current BLS.
  • Credentialed GI technician training or SGNA GI Specialist training is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide procedural assistance during GI procedures (endoscopies, colonoscopies) and assist with positioning, equipment prep, and monitoring vitals.
  • Ensure GI equipment/supplies are available, clean, functional; perform maintenance and coordinate repairs.
  • Coordinate patient care before, during, and after GI procedures with nurses and physicians; maintain patient comfort and safety.
  • Document procedure details and equipment usage in EMR or designated systems; maintain records on equipment maintenance and inventory.
