Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Practice Representative to support the GI Endoscopy Unit at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA. This on-site role runs 6:30am–3pm, Monday to Friday, and focuses on patient check-in, information gathering and seamless flow of care.

The role emphasizes excellent customer service, accurate data handling, and coordination with physicians, nurses and staff to ensure a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree preferred.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• Basic familiarity with computers. Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with and assists patients, other employees and the general public in a courteous, helpful manner by phone and in person.
• Takes complete and accurate information from patients/callers, prioritizing and facilitating communication of information to providers.
• Prepares schedules, medical records and other documents in accordance with quality standards. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
• Performs check in, registration, and verification of demographic and fiscal information according to medical center policies and procedures and utilizing hospital computer systems.
• Monitors patients and visitors entering, waiting, and leaving the practice. Facilitates timely flow and proactively solves flow issues.
