Job summary

Duke GI-Endoscopy of Raleigh is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support clinical and provider staff in a busy GI endoscopy clinic. Responsibilities include patient intake, vital signs, EMR updates, scheduling, and discharge planning.

The role requires an accredited MA program, certification, and BLS. Day shifts, Monday–Friday, with no weekends or holidays. Relocation assistance and a commitment bonus may apply for qualifying candidates.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is strongly preferred.
• High school or GED graduation is required.
• Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA is required.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient intake, review medical history, take vital signs, reconcile medications, and confirm the purpose of visit.
• Escort patient to exam room and provide gowns/drapes as needed.
• Prepare and draw injectable medications.
• Prepare and administer Breath Testing.
• Schedule clinic and procedure appointments.
• Gather clinic notes and obtain consent forms and instructions as requested by the physician.
• Return patient calls and check in baskets daily.
• Perform Fibroscan and other delegated clinical duties.

CAAHEP/ABHES accredited Medical Assistant program

High school or GED

AAMA/AMT/NHA-CCMA/NCMA/ARMA certification
