Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles is seeking a GI Attendant on-call to assist physicians during endoscopy procedures and to clean, sterilize, and maintain endoscopes and accessories.

Under supervision of a department head and licensed staff, you will prepare procedure rooms, assist with biopsies, and ensure infection control and equipment readiness. This role requires 1–2 years of patient care experience, BLS, and familiarity with instrument cleaning.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in patient care
• GI lab experience preferred
• Knowledge of instrument cleaning/sterilization and infection control

Responsibilities

• Prepare GI procedure room for endoscopy and related procedures
• Assist physician during endoscopy and care for biopsy specimens
• Disassemble/assemble, inspect, and lubricate endoscopes and instruments
• Clean, disinfect and sterilize endoscopes and equipment
• Follow infection control procedures and maintain documentation
• Transport patients to recovery and assist with appointment scheduling and room turnover
