Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking an entry-level/experienced Sterile Processing Technician to perform pre-cleaning and high-level disinfection of GI scopes and related equipment. The role supports a hospital setting in Omaha, NE, with a casual, as-needed work shift and emphasis on patient safety and equipment readiness.

Responsibilities include scope pre-cleaning, disinfection, scope maintenance, and daily equipment checks, along with ensuring proper labeling and handling.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Sterile processing experience preferred.
• Experience in healthcare setting preferred.
• Completion of Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (GI Scope) Certification (CFER) required within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Pre-clean and disinfect GI scopes and related equipment to ensure safe use for patients.
• Maintain equipment and perform daily checks, keeping supplies stocked and properly labeled.
• Perform maintenance steps for scope repair, reprocessing, and preventative maintenance per procedures.
• Assist with other duties as assigned to support department operations.
