Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System in Omaha, NE is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. You will contribute to infection control by decontaminating, cleaning, and sterilizing instruments and equipment and ensuring accurate processing for the operating rooms.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–2 years in Sterile Processing preferred.
• Knowledge of decontamination and sterilization techniques.

Responsibilities

• Sorts, disassembles, cleans, and disinfects contaminated instruments using universal precautions.
• Prepares instrument sets/trays and ensures completeness and accuracy.
• Performs sterile linen processing and proper packaging of linen packs.
• Loads sterilizers and follows steam/EO/plasma procedures per policy.
• Maintains accurate sterilization records and tracks equipment using the department system.
• Distributes instrument sets to departments in a timely manner.
• Performs UV cleaning of used equipment as directed.
