Job summary

Phelps Health is seeking a Certified Endoscope Reprocessing Technician to clean and high-level disinfect endoscopes and accessories, maintain QA logs, and ensure proper handling and maintenance of equipment. Responsibilities include operating automatic reprocessing equipment, maintaining endoscope tracking, and shipping damaged devices.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certified Endoscope Reprocessing certification must be obtained within 3 months of employment.
• Participation in continuing education and maintenance of certification is expected.
• Healthcare experience is preferred but not required; some related experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Wear PPE and follow policy guidelines.
• Clean and maintain reprocessing rooms.
• Demonstrate antiseptic techniques in manual and mechanical procedures.
• Maintain logs for QA, tracking data, and high-level disinfection of endoscopes.
• Clean and high-level disinfect a variety of endoscopes and accessories.
• Monitor endoscopes and instruments for optimal performance and track expiration dates.
• Operate and maintain automatic endoscope reprocessing (AER) equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintain QA logs and proper endoscope tracking and maintenance.
• Ship damaged endoscopes and report issues to supervisor.
• Ensure a safe and clean work environment and perform additional duties as assigned.
