Job summary

Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP) seeks Veterans for a full-time technician apprenticeship at a participating Kia Retailer. You will start with hands-on training, diagnostics, repairs, and warranty processing under Kia guidance and Retailer policies.

The program culminates in Kia Service Technician certification, with access to tools, equipment, and training and the potential for GI Bill Monthly Housing Allowance during the year-long competency-based apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Honorable Discharge is required.
• Valid Driver's License from any state with a clean driving record.
• Experience in a technical / mechanical field is required.
• Must be willing to complete and pass drug screening and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electrical components.
• Complete repair orders and warranty request orders in accordance with Kia and Retailer policies and procedures.
• Test drive vehicles and analyze, diagnose, and repair components using Kia diagnostic strategies, special equipment, and tools.
• Perform services, diagnostics, and repairs in a timely fashion while communicating with the shop foreman and service advisor to promote a great customer experience.
