Job summary

KIA Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP) offers veterans a path to become Kia Certified Service Technicians through hands-on training at participating Kia Retailers. The program is designed to provide employment and career development within the Kia network.

The VTAP is a one-year competency-based GI Bill approved apprenticeship leading to Kia Service Technician certification, with access to all tools, equipment, training, and a path to full-time employment at a Kia Retailer.

Qualifications

• Honorable Discharge is required.
• Valid driver's license from any state with a clean driving record.
• Experience in a technical or mechanical field is required.
• Willingness to complete and pass drug screening and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electrical components.
• Complete repair orders and warranty requests per Kia and retailer policies.
• Test drive vehicles and diagnose components using Kia diagnostic strategies and tools.
• Perform services and repairs promptly while communicating with the shop foreman and service advisor to ensure a strong customer experience.
