Job summary

AIG in New York seeks a Sustainability Manager to lead the greenhouse gas inventory and carbon accounting program across its operations, ensuring accurate data, governance, regulatory alignment, and readiness for external reporting and assurance.

The role partners with cross-functional teams to drive climate strategy, measure performance, and translate technical topics into clear business insights for senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years corporate sustainability experience.
• Strong knowledge of GHG emissions accounting methodologies and reporting requirements.
• Familiarity with decarbonization strategies and renewable energy procurement.

Responsibilities

• Own the annual operations GHG emissions inventory, including methodology, boundaries, assumptions and emissions factors.
• Manage the carbon accounting platform vendor and ensure data quality and system performance.
• Partner with Operations and Sustainability teams to define roles, timelines and documentation standards.
• Coordinate data collection with sustainability data providers and third-party vendors for timely reporting.
• Review inventory results for data quality and year-over-year changes.
• Support GHG reporting controls, audit evidence and external assurance.
• Stay abreast of evolving GHG accounting standards and improve governance of carbon accounting processes.
• Translate sustainability strategy into actionable business insights and senior stakeholder communications.
