Job summary

Thompson Gray is seeking a GFEBS Financial Analyst located onsite at Redstone Arsenal, AL to manage DoD budget execution and financial reporting. The role requires deep GFEBS expertise and strong data-analysis skills to support budget formulation and audits.

Responsibilities include monitoring obligations, generating reports, and coordinating with program managers and stakeholders to ensure compliant funding execution.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required for federal contracting work.
• Minimum of 2+ years of federal budgeting, finance, or accounting experience.
• Extensive, hands-on GFEBS experience is mandatory for budget execution, obligation tracking, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Strong understanding of DoD financial management regulations, principles, and best practices.
• Proficiency in analyzing large datasets, financial statements, and reports.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, deadlines-driven environment.
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and other financial analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of financial management from receipt of funds through liquidation of obligations.
• Provide comprehensive support for budget formulation and execution under DoD policies.
• Utilize GFEBS to input, track, reconcile, and report financial data with data integrity.
• Monitor funds status, track open commitments and unliquidated obligations.
• Coordinate with leadership and stakeholders to align budget execution with objectives and fiscal policy.
• Assist in budget justifications, spend plans, unfunded requirements, and obligation/expenditure reports.
• Assist in preparing financial reports and briefings for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support audits, reviews, and reconciliations in GFEBS for year-end closeout and discrepancies resolution.
• Provide input on financial systems/tools to improve processing of funding documents.
