Responsibilities

• Create grand format proposals for sales and CSR teams that are cost effective and profitable.
• Receive and understand requests from sales and CSR teams to properly specify substrates and processes.
• Research substrates, processes, outside vendors and steps to respond to customer requests.
• Assist grand format pre-production and production teams with understanding live projects from proposals.
• Work with sales and CSR teams to turn customer ideas into usable specifications for estimation and production.
• Coordinate with material suppliers and outside vendors to secure best pricing.
• Look for ways to gain production efficiency and communicate production information to the team.
• Maintain professional communication with others and keep workspace organized.

Primary responsibility is creating grand format proposals for our sales and CSR teams for all grand format projects. This is accomplished by receiving and understanding project specifications and determining best production processes, substrates and any research needed to complete the project. This candidate must maintain high quality standards and be detail oriented. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.Secondary job functions involve project planning and purchasing of production substrates and materials

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following duties satisfactorily. The employee must have an extensive grand format background including the different substrates and processes used in grand format. The employee must be available 8 hours per day and willing to work overtime and extra days should the workload demand it. You must be fluent in MS Office applications, email and the Internet. Previous grand format experience is an important factor.A high value will be placed on interpersonal communication skills.

Job Duties

• Create grand format proposals for the sales and CSR teams that are cost effective and are profitable projects for the grand format department
• Receive and understand all incoming requests from our sales and CSR teams to produce grand format proposals. This often requires verbal communication with the requestor to properly spec the right substrates and processes
• Research different substrates, processes, outside vendors and all applicable steps to respond to our internal and external customer requests
• Assist grand format pre-production and production teams with understanding difficult live projects from original proposals
• Work directly with our sales and CSR teams to prepare customer ideas into useable specifications that can be properly estimated and turned into live jobs. Proactive communication is absolute imperative
• Work with material and outside vendors to secure best pricing for goods and services.
• Look for ways to gain efficiency in production. Work closely with department manager and communicate production information to the team.
• Work and communicate with others in a professional manner
• Look for ways toimprove processes, gain efficiencies and reduce spoilage.
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure quality operating conditions at all times
• Keep workspace clean and organized

Schedule

Monday – Friday 8m to 5pm with overtime as needed.

Position Structure:

The Grand Format Estimator reports directly to the Grand Format Manager

Experience:

Large Format print production knowledge required.Minimum 3 years of grand format experience including extensive knowledge of all substrates

Education:

High school diploma or GED and industry training desired.

Language Skills:

Must have the ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents. Also, you must have the ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from coworkers and management.

Physical Demands:
