Job summary

Jefferson Community and Technical College seeks a German Adjunct Instructor to teach online GER 102 sections starting in January 2027. The position is housed in the Humanities department and will be delivered through the downtown Jefferson campus.

The ideal candidate will have 18 graduate hours in German or a Master’s degree in teaching, with preference for candidates experienced in community college instruction and online learning environments.

Qualifications

• Eighteen graduate hours in German or Germanic Studies, or a completed Master’s degree, or a Master’s degree in the teaching discipline required.
• Experience teaching German at the community college level preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach online GER 102 sections.
• Maintain office hours for mentoring and coaching students; use Blackboard for communication and feedback.

The Humanities Division of Jefferson Community and Technical College has an opening to teach online sections GER 102 through the downtown Jefferson Community and Technical College campus. This position begins in the Spring semester, January 2027.

Job Duties:

To teach courses, maintain some office hours for mentoring and coaching students, success and retention activities, and utilization of a learning management system such as Blackboard for communication and feedback

Minimum Qualifications:

Eighteen graduate hours in German or Germanic Studies, or a completed Master’s degree, or a Master’s degree in the teaching discipline required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• This position requires the ability to work with various constituencies of students, faculty, staff, and the public.
• Candidates who have demonstrated a commitment to working with all students through teaching, mentoring, or administration are especially encouraged to apply.
• Candidates skilled in engaging and supporting students at the community college level are encouraged to apply.
