The Adjunct – German position provides quality instruction and maintains a positive learning environment in the classroom, with major emphasis on teaching, supporting, and evaluating students.

Essential Job Functions

• Teach assigned courses as scheduled.
• Design curriculum that embraces diversity and models inclusive teaching strategies.
• Consider individual student differences to support a range of learning activities.
• Identify students with academic or other needs and provide appropriate resources.
• Use technology appropriately and communicate expectations to students.
• Maintain accurate records, attendance records, submit grades timely, and provide feedback.
• Distribute and maintain accurate syllabi that incorporate institutional requirements.
• Conduct classes punctually and per schedule.
• Employ assessment techniques to measure students’ performance in achieving course goals.
• Engage in periodic meetings with department leadership regarding teaching duties and professional development.
• Create a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages collaboration and learning.
• Use technology to assist communication with students.
• Encourage a sense of community for learning both inside and outside the classroom.
• Refer students to appropriate support services.
• Foster a safe environment of respect and inclusion.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in German or a relevant subject.
• Minimum of 18 graduate‑level credit hours in German.

Additional License Requirements

• State Motor Vehicle Operator’s License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work sites.

Compensation

Salary: $56.88 per contact hour. A contact hour equals two class hours. Maximum of 12 contact hours per week. Position is part‑time.
