Sdccdjobs is looking for an Adjunct Faculty member to teach German at various district locations. Responsibilities include providing quality instruction and maintaining professional standards in accordance with established curriculum.

The ideal candidate will hold at least a Master’s degree in German or equivalent and demonstrate cultural competency. Teaching availability outside of scheduled classes is also required.

Working Title Adjunct Faculty

Location: District Wide

Pay: Current salary schedule can be viewed. Salaries are based on official transcripts and will be placed on the Adjunct College Salary Schedules once transcripts are received.

Responsibilities

• Primary duties related to curriculum and teaching; assignment divided between lecture and lab classes as determined by the department.
• Available to students outside of class.
• Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
• Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
• Maintain current knowledge in subject matter areas.
• Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part‑time/temporary faculty member.
• Teach all scheduled classes.
• Maintain accurate records.
• Provide quality instruction, create and maintain an environment that encourages free discussion of ideas, interests, and issues.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in German; or
• Bachelor’s degree in German and Master’s degree in another language or Linguistics; or
• The equivalent foreign degree, with evaluation by a National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or Academic Credentials Evaluation Institute (ACEI).
• Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and staff.

Desired Qualifications

• California Community College Instructor Credential in German (valid for life).
• Experience with foreign degree equivalency or other credentials relevant to the discipline.
