Job summary

Ascension Living PACE Michigan is seeking a Board-Certified/Eligible Internal Medicine physician to join an established outpatient team in Flint, MI. The role involves primary care in the outpatient clinic, potential hospital rounding, and occasional home visits within a nonprofit health system.

Geriatrics fellowship is preferred, with licensure and DEA registration required. Advanced Life Support is preferred. The PACE program delivers comprehensive care in the community setting.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree required.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine; geriatrics fellowship preferred.
• Eligible for state medical license and DEA registration.
• Advanced Life Support preferred (AHA or Red Cross accepted).

Responsibilities

This job location is currently located in a Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) and/or Medically Underserved Areas/Populations (MUA/P) Shortage Designation Type.

Position Highlights

How you'll make an impact in this role

• Join an established team of 2 other physicians and 3 Apps

• Call structure: 1:6

• Practice setting: Majority of time will be in the outpatient clinic, ability to round on patients as needed in local hospital(s) and occasionally a home visit might be necessary.

• Employed position within a nonprofit health system

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine required with Geriatrics fellowship preferred

• Eligible for state medical license and DEA registration

About PACE:

• The Program for All Inclusive Care (PACE) is an alternative to nursing home care and â?? through an interdisciplinary care team of physicians, nurses, social workers, therapists, and aides â?? coordinates and provides preventive, primary, acute, and long-term care services, so older individuals can continue living in the community.

• Aged 55 years old or older.

• Live in a PACE providerâ??s service area.

• Certified by the state as meeting the need for the nursing home level of care.

• Able to live safely in the community with the help of PACE services at the time you enroll.

• While there are no financial eligibility requirements, PACE programs are covered by Medicare and Medicaid for eligible individuals.

• PACE services are also available on a private pay basis.

What minimum requirements you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Physician MD/DO obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
