Job summary

CareMed Health Solutions in Arkansas is seeking a Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to deliver comprehensive wound care to residents in skilled nursing facilities. The role focuses on chronic and acute wound management, collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, and adherence to state regulations.

The NP will diagnose and treat wounds, prescribe medications, order tests, and contribute to care plans, while working within EMR systems and coordinating with primary care providers.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted NP license in Arkansas.
• Board Certification.
• DEA licensure (Optional).
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
• Clinical background of wound care; including chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds.
• Must be comfortable diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.
• Must be comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP.
• Familiar with wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.
• Experience with wound vacs and other DME.

Responsibilities

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities.
• Prescribe medications, including controlled substances in accordance with AR Law.
• Order, review, and follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing.
• Communicate with the nursing home staff on a regular basis to discuss changes in condition and care plans.
• Collaborate with the primary care physician.
