Job summary

CareMed Health Solutions is seeking a Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to provide specialized wound care services to residents of long-term care facilities in Arkansas. The role involves diagnosing and treating wounds, prescribing medications, and coordinating with facility staff and primary care physicians.

Ideal candidates hold an Arkansas NP license with board certification, have wound care experience in geriatric settings, and are comfortable with EMR systems and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted NP license in Arkansas.
• Board Certification.
• DEA licensure (Optional).
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
• Experience with wound care including chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds.
• Comfort diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.
• Staging pressure injuries per NPIAP.
• Familiar with wound care products (collagens, alginates, foams, silvers).
• Experience with wound VAC and DME (pressure relieving devices).
• Wound certification or openness to getting certified is preferred.
• Experience in long-term care setting.
• Ability to work with an EMR.
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary care team.

Responsibilities

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities.
• Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with AR Law.
• Order, review, and follow up with treatments and diagnostic testing.
• Communicate with the nursing home staff regularly to discuss changes in condition or care plan.
• Collaborate with the primary care physician.
