Job summary

Maggie Valley Health & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders in a skilled nursing setting.

The role requires a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, CCC, and licensure eligibility. You will develop individualized therapy plans, collaborate with the clinical team, document progress, and educate residents and families to maximize quality of life and functional independence.

Qualifications

• Must have a graduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• CCC certification or eligibility.
• Strong clinical knowledge in adult/geriatric care.

Responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans.
• Collaborate with nurses, occupational and physical therapists, dietitians and social workers.
• Maintain thorough documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Educate residents and families about therapy goals and swallowing safety.
• Provide palliative care support focusing on communication and swallowing needs.
