Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join a skilled nursing team caring for a geriatric population. The RT will assess, treat, and document care, operate and maintain respiratory equipment, and participate in quarterly nursing staff in-services.

Candidate must be licensed (RRT or CRT) in the practicing state and have BLS. Experience with tracheotomy and in long-term care settings is preferred, with Saturday and Sunday

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program and licensed RRT/CRT.
• Licensed in the practice state with BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and applies respiratory techniques to rehab/maintain patients with various respiratory illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain records, operate and assemble equipment.
• Perform bedside treatments and attend quarterly in-services for nursing staff.
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly documentation and participate in IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy and long-term care settings; follow facility procedures.
